• A 14 month-old boy presented to the emergency department after falling down 4 steps and hitting his head. He did not appear to lose consciousness or have any seizure activity. There are no other injuries and no concern for non-accidental trauma.

  • Normal birth and development.​

  • None.​

  • Not contributory.

  • Lives nearby with his parents.

    • GCS 14: eyes open spontaneously, moving spontaneously, crying but consolable​.
    • Cranial nerves intact​.
    • Normal motor and sensory exam for age.

Radiology Report

There is a 3.4 mm right frontal convexity acute subdural hematoma. There is no mass effect or midline shift. There is no skull fracture and no other pathologic findings.
